There is a small needle bearing in the back of the spindle. Usually they are neglected and forgotten.. Is there lube in the front diff? Does this make sounds all the time? Turning? Wheel bearings are probably not the problem because they are always turning. CV boots? U-joints? Time to crawl under there and take a look.
