Anytime you let an engine breath easier it will help MPG and performance!!! You don't see mufflers and Air Filters on Funny Cars, Double A Fuel Dragsters But you might see an air filter on Piston Airplanes, but no mufflers!!!!!

Why would you think that, tires yes, stock manifolds choked the engine!!!
