It was my understanding that even the 22RE fuel pump was adequate for the 5VZFE (in fact I *think* its the same as the 3.0 fp), but it does sound like you are having fuel starvation issues.

As far as mixing and matching ECUs and motors, and addressing any wiring stuff, maybe you need to go to confession to Father Caskey at Our Lady of Off Road Solutions. That's assuming he can do long distance diagnosis, which may not be possible.
