The newer troopers use a modified 12 bolt rear. That is that it is not the same as the ~pre 98 troopers. The modified 12 bolt uses a larger ring and pinion and shafts than the non-modified 12 bolt. The non-modified 12 bolt is roughly the size of a Dana 44, but larger. The modified 12 bolt is roughly the size of a Dana 60 (I believe, but may be wrong, but it is larger than the non-modified 12 bolt). Hope that helps some.
