If having rear discs on my Troop means a 12 bolt, put me down for one as well. Heck even if it was a 10 bolt I'd take one, can't go peg-leg forever . As for the front I plan to keep my IFS so I'd need something compatable.

but remember we are conservatively talking months (possibly a year) on this to make it a reality. The Biggest plus on our side in my book is that there are other manufacturers in the game now.....especially when they know they are able to offer a lower priced alternative to applications that ARB offers. As well as the fact that there is overseas sales potential.

so the sooner we get our money together the sooner they can see how serious we are. We need some funds to show we are serious people. Matt can you see what amount it would take to get something going or at least our foot in the door. A year is a good while. i would rather see months instead and a locker in the rear soon.

late 87-early 1997 troopers you have a 12 bolt rear and a 10 bolt front....these parts would be for you to lock it up front and rear.

mid-97+ is where we need to look at the rear 12 bolt to see where the "split" to the larger size is. i have heard a buch of different versions of what the deal is. Basically AFAIK 1998 is the truly confirmed rear with the larger ring/carrier.

cross that bridge when we ge to it

now to make a business case.............one would need some stats.........so lets get some facts and figures on how many trucks it owould fit. You know like some import numbers or something that shows business potential.

I know you were just using it as an example, but import numbers i doubt will have a strong effect on our case. I think some things that will solidify our proposal:

A) first and foremost, an upfront showing of cash and support for their "test run" - are we really expecting powertrax to create a new line of locker out of one group buy, or to start with a test-batch for economically-devoted enthusiasts

Growth Potential:

B) this is prob proprietary & confidential info, but maybe Rancho / ARB / TJM / Superwinch / Warn / 4 wheel parts etc. have some releasable figures on their sales trends for aftermarket Isuzu-specific products (in comp to other makes) --> i bet this would spark some interest, showing their offroad growth
C) the rising value of used isuzu trucks, i.e. gaining respect, desireability and support in the 4x4 market

I dunno, this is all just stuff off the top of my head, but might help add more meat...

also serious gearing options like the Tera products make it look like a more "serious" crowd of enthusiasts than maybe it was 5 years ago when the locker was trickling along w/ poor sales.

I hope that this is a tell-tale sign to Powertrax... if companies such as ARB can commit, & profitably too, why shouldnt theirs which would alot cheaper, and a practical (in comparison to ARB) install

Well, I know a couple of us would commit to 2 of them if it would get us over the top, so it looks like we are pushing 20 units right now. That is not a bad start for sure.

Matt, I know the nexer 12 bolts have a larger ring gear and carrier, but we are talking about the spider gears.....Are they compatible between them????? That would make a big difference if the guts of the carrier are the same size. I am speculating here, so it is mostly wishful thinking.

I have a 2001 Troop, which I believe has a 10-bolt rear.

I'd be in for a rear locker. Are we talking air or cable actuated?

ps
I'm in the Omaha, NE area now. Would like to meet and wheel w/anyone local or in the surrounding area. smile

I'm finally getting my ARB in January. No winch though. That's big $$$.

pps
Man, I need to edit my profile. I'll fix it tonight.

None of the Isuzus have ten bolt rears since 87. You have the newer 12 bolt.

dude you are way off the back here

(cretianly just busting your chops ....but you really have no clue what we are talking about in this thread)

the Lockright is a full time "drop-in" Locker that replaces the internals of your existing carrier. it is automatic.....i.e. non-selectable...........no cable, air, electric, yada yada

and you have a 10 bolt front.....w/ the larger 1.50" shaft 12 bolt rear....as mentioned in my last post.
