i rebulit a 90 22re with new pistons, rings and bearings etc. i asked the machine shop to check the cam when they checked the head. they said the cam checked out within spec.. having done business with them before, i put it in and wore out a set of feeler gauges myself trying to get the lifters quiet, burnt the s#$t out of my hands trying to do it hot like Toyota says... after swapping rocker arm assembly off another motor, purchasing new adjuster screws like mentioned in this post, the only thing left was the cam, and that is what it was.. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/angry.gif" alt="" /> (thanks machine shop) i hope this helps, and i hope you find it, trust me i know how irritating this problem is..
