Real easy to check alignment of the rocker in relation to the valve tip. Pull the adjustment screw out of the rocker...the hole should be centered directly over the tip.

As soon as the valve cover is off and you start looking any rockers that are out of alignment should be obvious though. Currently have the valve cover off my original 81' 22R in the Celica. Steel rockers instead of aluminum and quiter than a mouse cutting the cheese...would you believe that a 24 year old engine that has never had any internal work is showing no wear on the cam/rockers? The intake side adjustment screws are just starting to see the hourglass pattern (prolly from being too tight, had to loosen things up) and all 8 were dead nut center over the tips of the valves. Compression check last night revealed 155 psi across all 4 cylinders too. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />
