What I mean is something along teh lines of what the Titan or the Dodge ram is. The tundra neads a little help.

Not that I really care, and I'm sure the posting was intended to put a debate out there, but what's inadequate about a Tundra? Does it just not look "tough enough" for the truck crowd?
I bought my T100 because it's not as big as a "full size", but it still hauls the 4x8 sheet goods and other stuff. And, it has 6 seatbelts. I'd really like to see a really good midsize truck come out. A big vehicle is a pain in the ass around town. It's quite entertaining watching the F250, 350, 2500, etc. supercab people manuevering around town.

i've given up. i am in the market for a 2001.5 or 2002 dodge ram 2500, 4x4 cummins, 6 speed, short bed right now. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> $20K cheaper than a new one.

Hino (an affiliate? Can't tell if they're owned by Toyota.. but they're linked somehow) is working on a 3/4ton diesel/electric hybrid that's supposed to get in the 30's for gas mileage. It's supposed to be released (the powerplant) in Japan for '06... might make it to the US sometime before 2010. And a hybrid FTX is supposed to follow the main launch by a year or two (but it's a gas/electric model). Personally, I bought the T100 because it WASN'T a full size. It fits my needs perfectly (I'm a big guy, don't fit into Tacos comfortably) and even my wife feels comfortable in it. Shoot, I've put 17k miles on the thing in the past 7~8 months and suspect that I'll do the same in the next 7~8 months... hard to do that with a vehicle that's a bad fit.

MIKEM, I don't post to cause or sake of an argument. I was really wanting to know and yes I did hear rumor, that Toyota was going to step up to the plate and build a full size truck.
To tell you the truth I really don't see why Toyota has built one before (for export to the US). The have BIG BIG trucks overseas (use to see them all the time when I was over in the middle east for 10 years).
About the Blue concept truck in the link above, everything looks good till you get the the rear of the bed. What happen, why bobbed like that???
Yes I have a 2003 Hemi Full size quad cab 1500 dodge sitting tall with 315x70x17's on it, Yeah it can be a little bit of a pain to park, not as easy as my 88 toyota 4x4 shortbed.
I sure would like to have two Toyota's (88 and a new FULL size Quad cad) in the stable instead of that dodge. The dodge has been OK, but still lacks the refinement of a "Japanese" vehicle. This is why I am looking at the Titan.
Got a neighbor that has had 3 dodges 2001, 2002, 2003, trucks and now has a Titan. He says it's a better built truck than the Dodges. I get ont he Titan forums and read pretty good things about them, there new though. Will be lookin though, I have a funny feeling that this dodge is not going to be around very long. First $23,000 takes it.
