I'll put in a plug for the Skyjacker Hydros. I drive mostly on the street and have had it on a couple (technical) trails. The ride is smooth and compliant, not too soft, not too hard. In comparison to the previous Monroe Sensatracs these things are on a whole nother level. I knew I wasn't getting the best offroad shock out there, but that's not what I wanted. If you can't afford the OMEs or Rancho 9000s, I'd highly recommend these for your situation. Best part about them is the price!
