I am actually going to do what you asked about. I have bought an Isuzu Trooper turbo diesel with no engine or transmission. What I will be doing is putting in the later model non-turbo diesel engine with 62 HP. And then I will use the 5-speed 4WD transmission that came on the turbo diesel C223T. What I have realized with my setup is the Trooper's top speed will be 50-55 MPH, but will get at least 32-35 MPG. I want to stay away from the turbo diesel engine and its connecting rod flaw in the Trooper. Since you have a non-turbo diesel engine that is ready to be put in a vehicle, you have another option for an engine in your Trooper if you don't want to use the turbo diesel engine. Good luck with what you decide and if you have any other questions feel free to ask. I'll answer if I can help.
