I had originally planned on rebuilding the 3.0L with all sorts of power mods....DOA heads, cams, headers, injectors....a whole list of stuff. But, in the end the 3.4L had more power than all the mods would have given and it was cheaper.....even at a cost of $4500.

The rebuild with all the extra's was about $5000. But that did include replacing all the motor sensors. My theory there was I wanted reliability and MAF and oxygen sensors and the rest of them with 162K on them don't exactly qualify as completely reliable...I was already getting O2 sensor codes. My 3.4L has 62K on it and I don't expect to have to replace anything (other than t-belt and tuneups) for another 100K.
