Thanks to Joe Hope , I've got my 10 bolt all bolted in and the old 8 bolt scattered about the garage. (Now I have the rare 10bolt/10bolt Trooper!)
Everything bolts right in to '87 Trooper....except for the drive shaft. The 8 bolt shaft is too small to bolt to the 10 bolt flange.
Has anyone run into this problem? What is the fix?

I'm gonna go to the junk yard tonight to get a 10 bolt shaft and compare the two shafts. Worst case is I cut the two shafts apart and make a custom shaft.

Thanks ya'll.

Yeah Karl the u pull it idea may just be a bolt up solution.

OK...Haven't had time to go to the junk yard.
How many splines are on the front shaft (at the slip joint) of a 10 bolt? What is the diameter?

Anybody know?
Thanks,
Karl

17 splines and about 1"1/4 in diameter(sorry no metric conversion, I'm numericaly challenged )

Karl I'm going to the Foster U Pull It today to get some wiring, do you want me to pick you up a 10 bolt driveline?

I just read this.....I hope you didn't buy anything. I'll buy it if you did. Thanks man.

I went to the u-pull it and grabbed a shaft from an '89.
Thankfully the slip joint splines matched up, but the shaft is too long.
I cut the shaft to fit and will be welding it up tonight or tomorrow. Once the shaft is bolted in, then I'm all done!

Joe, I can't thank you enough for your help with parts. You Rock!
