I agree that slotted or drilled rotors are not the way to go. Use Brembo rotors and your choice of pads. I personally chose OEM pads on our 4Runner since I don't want noise. On my truck, I used regular Autozone lifetime pads. They were very aggresive at first, but calmed down and feel pretty good. After 20k miles, they are about 1/3 worn. The rotors on my '89 truck are original after 210k miles. The 4Runner's rotors were warped badly at 95k miles.
