The warranties on brake pads are this, atleast at advance where I work. We only sell Limited Lifetime Pads except for the ceramic pads, though the bendix ceramic pads are limited liftemtime as well. Limited Lifetime refers to this, if the pad fails because of a manufacturers defect, then it will be replaced once. Lifetime is not meant to include normal wear and tear, if it did, then the companies that make brake pads would be non existant. But, many customers and sales people at the store dont realize that and when someone mentions their brakes wore out in 20,000 miles with the cheap $15 Limited lifetime pads, they think they get another set for free, which they arent supposed to, but then the customer gets mad if the manager says no and the customer gets a free set anyways, or the manager doesnt understand the warranty. My oppinion is this, get the best set you can afford if you plan on keeping the vehicle, apply the no squeak stuff to the back and you will be set.
