Plus shackles up front are not known for their ride and/or handling qualities. For sure have a shop check the caster angle and then shim it back to a reasonable value if it is off.

i have thought of puttin in a cross bar from the pinion to the frame like a track bar in a 4 link and as far as the shakles if i go any smaller i loose the hight from spring eye to spring eye the front is a .50" down do you think a shim will take care of most of it ??????? better detailed pics tomorrow

i found my problems.. when i put my truck on a buddies lift
and.. went lock to lock.. but.. actually push a bit on each lock. The axle on my truck would shift about an inch! it was due to the Long Shackles i had (two pieces of plate, not connected). I later welded a section of tubing inside.. giving it a bit more lateral ridgity. It was like night and day after doing that.

Apparently my rear sways a bit too due to the same circumstances but it was not noticable to me when i drove.

I find about 2" over stock shackle length is where bracing helps. On the front axle, bracing makes for a more solid steering setup.
