Ok guys, almost there... i got the custom brake lines made today and bled the system. only thing i'm missing is my steering rod and a driveshaft. I sold my stock front Dshaft a while back to fund this SAS <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/drunk.gif" alt="" /> So should I get a Toyota IFS shaft and have it modifided, or just take it the local drivetrain places and have them make a complete custom one? will a Tacoma V6 front Drive shaft work for mod'n? what's the best plan of attack here? on the axle i have a yoke that takes U bolts (1330? U joint I think) and on the Tcase I have the stock Yota flange. I have the V6 set up.

yeah call jesse.he made mine up.thought the cv was going to be what was needed but he said no single joint will work better for me.use the cv for rear shaft.i have had my front driveline through some nasty stuff and no damage and runs smooth.i did have to use a non cv flange though on my t-case.

a self-made square shaft is economical... but I wouldnt use in high torque situation. Id say only lighter vehicles with under 100 hp and close to stock tires/gearing. Seen a lot of them used successfuly on Suzuki's...

Why wouldnt you? I'd say, if properly welded, it would be stronger than a factory round tube drive shaft. You make it out of 1/4" square tube. It's beefy as hell.
Only bad part is the vibrations and clanking you get. I can spin mine up to about 35 MPH before it started to vibe out of control.

Yeah the one on my 87 is pretty noisy, but I only use it in 4WD on the trail anyhow.
