My 93 4Runner has 200K miles on an auto tranny. The engine is brand new last April. The trans temp light comes on when going up steep prolonged climbs. Longo says it passed the pressure test and the stall test and advised I instal a trans cooler, which I did with a fan. Drove from L.A. to Vancouver Is. last summer and back and the trans light came on while climbing a steep grade fire road with the cooler blowin' like the wind. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/angry.gif" alt="" /> I have changed the fluid every other year but I've been told that there are clutches wearing out inside causing heat build up. I suppose the trans needs to be overhauled soon...right? Where in Socal is THE shop to have this done? Dealer won't touch it.
DON'T MOVE!!!...Lemme get the camera!
