I'm swaping in a 85 4runner solid axel ...you have to cut the knuckels and rotate 180* ...then flip your 3rd and either have to heat/hammer diff cover or cut/rotate ...and a couple bolt holes fill have to be filed a bit to line up ...a D44 might be easer but i have tonnes of Toy stuff around and i wanna run a Toy e-locker with 4.56's

I just bought a set of 2.85 t-case gears from Mark Hardman at the beginning of last month and have since had them installed. At the time I was working out acquiring a set from Mark, he had said he had two sets left. One of them I got, the other (last I heard) were possibly being purchased by somebody from Norway, but Mark was unsure if the sale was going to go through. Bottom line, if he has any left, he only has one set left. I wrote Mark last week to find out whether that last set of gears was still available. I was planning on posting his response here once I got it. If there is still a set left and if they fit your t-case, I highly recommend it. They ROCK!

I heard from Mark this afternoon. Here's what he had to say:
"The other set of gears is still here. I'll be making more some time soon anyway..........we have also developed a new set for the later model and will be starting manufacture of these real soon. I am also making a set of PTO gears to suit the 2.85 gears for a guy in Norway so he can run his winch."

Looks like that last set is still available and there's another production run in the planning. I don't know the timeline, though.

Definitely worth the investment. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />
