Wow, haven't read this thread in a long time. I just did now as it was flagged for a new add per Ed's post. I'll offer up my token contribution...

Q: Where can I get a Factory Service Manual, aka Shop Manual, aka FSM? Oh, preferably in electronic format.
A: Plenty of them now collected up via the help of many on this site. Go to MitsubishiLinks.com.

Plenty of PDFs and ZIPs for the taking. Don't even think about pirating and profiteering though, right guys?! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/angry.gif" alt="" />

Many of us have heard of them and some have very strong opinions about the claims and attitudes of the company.

The ôhigh volumeö pump they were selling that appears to be a stock pump was one issue that comes up on the Starion forums a lot. The ôknow it allö sales and service people is another.

I have stripped all emissions systems off my 87 Dodge Raider. 100%. There is now only a motor and a 1bbl carb to run it, and it runs like a swiss clock.
Could send you pics if you'd like, just can't attach to this system it seems.
My question is, do I need the ECU since there are no items plugged in or vacuum lined up or connected to anything, not even the distributor.
I kinda have it running like Ronco, Set it and forget it!
Can I take the ECU out and leave it out?
I ask because I need to get to my fan, it some times won't run but if I give it a hit with my fist it'll come on, so I'm going to check the wiring and resistor and the ECU is in the way.
I'd like to take it out and toss it if it's not needed for anything else?
Thanks
Doc
