He'll likely need the complete engine (w/brackets and accessories), tranny, t-case, ECU, full harness, custom prop shafts and maybe a body lift. The oil pan may have to be hacked and engine and tranny/t-case mounts may have to be relocated, but I'm not certain of that.

It might be possible to bolt up the 3.5L to the KM148, but the starter location, drive plate and transmission stays are different due to the depth of the block skirt.

I took a look at that swap a while ago and backed off because I didn't have enough space and equipment to put 2 engines side-by-side to see the exact difference and didn't want to spend the money for an engine I might not be able to use.

It would be a great swap (though a lot of work) for a SWB and I hope someone will try it to see what's involved.
