Yeah, that one is actually too pretty for me - I want one to wheel, and it would be a shame to scratch up that pristine finish, let alone dent it.

Hmm, im 6'2 and i fit perfectly in my trooper with the seat almost all the way up... How is that possible??? Your knees must be hugging the steering wheel!

man...I'm 6' (well, okay, 5' 11 15/16"), and I had plenty of room to spare in my '88 Trooper. Swede, are you sure that there wasn't something messed up on the 89 RS you tried...maybe some bubble gum jammed into the seat rails or something? That Nawlins RS is so sweet, I'd almost be willing to trade my 93 for it...almost.

Even with the handle that jacks the seat up and down?
I'm 6'2"/240 and the RS fits me just fine.
That RS could be the twin of mine (except it's twice as clean and has less than half the miles).

IÆm a bit surprised by this whole ædriver fitment & leg roomÆ conversationà
I too am among the vertically cursed (roughly 6Æ3ö+, and most of it legs), which has proven itself problematic from a driverÆs seat point of view on a number of occasions (and in the case of a certain Fiat X1/9 that one time û an utter contortioned impossibility!)
However, with that said, IÆve found JoeÆs first gen Trooper to be adequately spacious enough for my leg room requirementsà certainly a lot more so than Miss KathyÆs ultra-compact Mercury Capri XR2 [ * Think: Circus Clown Car ] - and I have somehow manage to drive that without too much difficulty. --- By comparison, a first gen Trooper is nothing short of CAVERNOUS!
As for that`Nawlins RSà

WOW!!!! That's in really nice shape, especially for its age. Hey, is it me, or is the back seat a little narrow than a regular 4 door???? Dave
A Wise man once said, Wherever you go........there you are Bone stock 90 Trooper 2.6, 5 speed. With the aerodynamics of a brick, and the power to match. 2000 Chevy Tracker, also bone stock, well, at least until it's paid off!!!

I wonder if the RSs have the same legroom as the 4-doors? I would think so...

Leg room in the back of the RS is definately non-existent... and that rear seat is not made for 2 adults. It's tough to get 2 kids back there. In the front the room is the same, but I don't think the seats go back as far. I know the previous owner of mine rigged up a bracket to move the seat back b/c he couldn't drive with it the factory way. He wasn't past 6', but did have a wooden leg to contend with... and how he drove the manual is another story altogether!
