Newbie here.

Just stepped out of a 1993 pickup (ext. cab 4wd with 82K miles) into a 2002 4runner (4wd, 52K miles).

A couple of questions:

1. When in drive on an inclinde, with my foot off both the brake and gas, I will roll backwards. This would seem to be a problem?

2. I love the truck in every way except the traction control system. So annoying not to be able to spin the tires trying to get out of a little snow. Instead the truck won't move at all and I have to shift over to 4wd. Can I turn this off?

Glad to join the group. I am a DIYer, so I will be getting into the maintenance stuff shortly.
