This is indeed a revision of the old design..
Here is his page showing the old design

This new one is a lot better, as for clearance, ou will still gain some.. ( I think it is about 1"- 2" but you gain some serious protection now..

I am unsure when he is going to be putting them up for sale and I am also unsure of the cost.. That is up to him.. I do know that this design is a lot more work and will be more expensive than the old one.. But look at the old one, and then the new one and you can see how much better it is..
Here is BudBuilt's website.. Please give him a call for info on them..

Sorry Lee, I stand corrected. When you said that you got the first new design V6 crossmember I took it to mean ever, not of the new revision.

Sorry for not replying earlier guys! Working on more cool stuff, and not getting it out fast enough. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="images/icons/frown.gif" />
And hate to correct you Lee but this is a new design for V6 ONLY! The 4 Cyl one and all the dual case versions are the same as they always have been. They give the same great protection they always have. The problem with the V6s, as has already been noted, is the Tcase hangs WAY down compared to a 4 Cyl one. (1.7" more actually) The new crossmember gives the same clearance as a 4 cyl crossmember from the middle of the truck on out on the driver's side. But it drops down and wraps around the tcase on the other side. Much more work to build but gives good protection and smooth ramps to make it over the rocks and stumps.
Lee has a 5 speed and the skidplate for the Automatics covers all the way to the bellhousing like this:
<img src="http://www.yankeetoys.org/budbuilt/images/V6crossmembers/BBV6SA1.jpg" alt=" - " />
<img src="http://www.yankeetoys.org/budbuilt/images/V6crossmembers/BBV6SA3.jpg" alt=" - " />

Officially, there is one other V6 single case crossmember out there but Allen would have to tell us where it is now!

I'll try to answer the other questions here:

Why do you have this tcase in your truck? You have a 22RE and 5 speed, right?

You support the transfercase with a jack, remove the old crossmember and bolt on the new. Remove the jack, then install the skidplate. Pretty easy really.

Woops! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="images/icons/tongue.gif" /> Sorry about that Bud.. I didn't catch the 4cy application on those.. Bud is right about the hang on the V-6 transfercase.. It really does drop down.. But I love the protection..

Here I have been thinking that you were changing the was you made all of them... D'oh.. <img border="0" alt="[Ignore]" title="" src="graemlins/ignore.gif" />

The single case Crawler with adapter for the V6 tranny mounts in the stock location, so I didn't need a new crossmember. Pretty cool eh? Just 1 more reason why I opted for a single 4.7 case over dual cases. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" />
