Getting the Wheeling Fever

Guys, I'm going to replace my sparkplugs tomorrow. I bought the Bosch Platinum +4 plugs. They have the four electrodes, and a money back satisfaction guarantee. Have any of you used these in your T? I'm getting ready to turn over 100,000 miles, and I don't know if they've ever been changed. I bought the truck (98 SR5 4wd) with about 54,000 miles on it. It runs fine, but has been a little rough starting lately. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks, Gary

See, I've heard that too... But I've been using Bosch plugs since I owned my '89 VW; Never had any problems in any vehicle. I'm currently running a set of +4 in the T... About 10-11k miles on 'em, but they look brand new.

Those four pronged buggers like to eat aluminum heads. If thats not a problem for you have fun

I used the Bosch plugs for a few years until I started getting error codes. I replaced the plugs with Toyota spark plugs and no more problems. Plugs are cheap enough where it is a good idea to use OEM plugs and avoid problems.

How does a spark plug eat an aluminum head (other than cross-threading from improper installation) or severe overheating???

This months popular mechanics has an article and pictures of the 100K spark plugs stripping aluminum heads, and causing more expensive engine work.... another problem with those plugs... I think OEM is the way to go on plugs too!

Wasn't the article about iridium plugs though?
Oh well... In any case, you guys made me paranoid enough to go get a set of NGK's for both rigs. Thanks a lot

Can you get the NGK's from one of the standard auto supply places (autozone, checker, etc.) or do you have to go to the dealer?
