I have a 88 shortB truck and about a year ago or so I ordered a superlift 5" lift with new rear springs and run 35's. I have a question for you. Did you get new springs, I kinda take it you didn't since you are thinkin about a Add a Leaf? I say to you don't go with a Add a leaf. I had a 84 sb toy and I went rancho 3" with rear add a leaf and man you talk about a ***** ride, its too light unless you put a shell, or it would be OK if it was a runner with cap on and seat in. But a truck is too light in my opinion. This 88 I have now rides like a board. I was running 33x12.50 on 10" rims with 4" back spacing, I wis I would have gone with a 2" body lift and a 2" ball joint spacer on the front and block shackle combo for the rear, then I think I would have had enough room for 35's. Is the reason for more lift to clear tires? Oh and just by turning up the torsion bars is not ging to break them. Jumping or just plan harsh use of the torsion is what breaks them. I have seen a torsion bar break on a 2wd nissan that was not turned up. It was from costant driving on very rough farm roads, and it broke on him while he was driving on the highway. When they are fatigued they are fatigued and will break, only so many cycles designed in a torsion bar.
