Getting the Wheeling Fever
So whats the verdict on changing fluids? My '02 is at 48K and I'm debating which to change:

Anti freeze
Tranny
Diffy/transfer case

I also sprung for the $200 shop manuals - we'll see if they're worth it.

Change all the fluids if you are going to keep the truck past 100K miles. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" /> On the other hand, if you aren't going to keep the truck more than a year or two, change the trans fluid and coolant at most. Sucks for the next owner if you do nothing, though.

I will be doing my coolant next. So far, after getting my 2002 with 52K miles a month ago (2nd car purchased off Ebay), I have done the trans fluid, swithed to Mobil 1 motor oil, spark plugs, air filter, and lubed the drive train with Mobil 1 grease (same grease throughout, despite the toyota suggestion of 2 types). I gotta say that getting to the spark plugs and oil filter is a total PITA on this vehicle. Plugs were ugly though - glad I did it. The 2005 tacoma oil filter is right on top of the engine - duh. I'll wait on the differential and transfer case oils till summer.
