Getting the Wheeling Fever
Wow, what a difference. The first second I got it back on the street it was like driving a different vehicle. On the down side it seems to idle high but after about 10min of driving the idle goes back to a more normal state, around 1000 rpm. Anyone know what I could do to fix this? I think it might be the tps but I'm not sure, I'll fart around with it a bit this weekend. I know I'm going to be getting much worse gas milage because I let it get to 4000 rpm a little more often! Also with my old TB when I would really want to excelerate often the engine would surge, I was thinking this was an ignition problem and I was going to work on that next. I guess the injectors must have been dirty because the surge is gone and it's all go go go now. Great mod, as of right now I would saw it's way worth it. Picked up my Holley on ebay for a great deal.

Body Damage is Cool
With a GM-type TBI system, anytime you make significant changes to engine airflow, whether it's intake or exhaust, you need to readjust the minimum idle air/speed settings & T.P.S voltage.

See this recent post for more info on the topic:

It's running better than ever, just idles high for about the first 10 minutes then settles into a more normal idle range. I will be taking a look at the TPS voltage and see what that's like. Thanks for the help. Highly suggest that anyone with a 2.8 try this or the 4.3 throttle body, well worth the couple hours to install.
