I have the body off my truck and I am in the process of creating a rust free frame. Let me tell you guys this thing is bad, most people would have chosen a different route at this point. This frame is pretty much gone from the front leaf mount all the way back, but the gas tank is perfect go figure.

Any way I lost at least 18 pounds in crap and rust so far and I haven't even started cutting. I have gotten the mid rails between the wheels done. I have a trip to the steel dist tomorrow, this is crappy work.

And here I am with my factory black-waxed frame looking perfect, whining because I have to replace a cat (meow).

Hehe. Luck, bro.

All told, I went through a gallon and a half of POR-15. Everything underneath was done in basic black.
And then the turbo, but you've already got that covered.

That's where I need to be.

Is that an extra frame I see off to the right??

Very good eye.

To the right is/was my bad frame. Rather than deal with it, I used the one from my second donor truck. For, being as I had never done anything like this, it was nice having the bad one largely intact while I reassambled the good one.

BTW, thew yard/drive was long ago cleaned up.

Also, here was my little gizmo for doing inside the cross-tubes and other similar tight spots. It's a dish mop with the handle cut off and then glued into a drilled broomstick.

You guys cleaning and painting the underside of the body as well? Frame restoration intrigues me, only thing that keeps me is that I only have 1 garage and 0 experiance. Then again my frame is not in too bad of shape (surface rust only)

That was me one year ago! Still only have one garage, but a little experience now.

Body Damage is Cool
If it had that much rust scale on it, was it worth salvaging? Just asking. If you spent the time removing all that rust, wouldn't the inside of the rails have it too.
