If your basing your idea on the trailer platform 48" x 48 " shown in the picture below then it will not, I repeat, will not stand up to any hard going abuse, that even less on any off road or back road condition. I had one of these for my camping supplies behind my Civic, and I always wished, I would have had one made for me. I now use this trailer for my lawn tractor for leaves and grass clippings.

You'll be better off to buy a axle and hub assy and then have your frame work built up for you. You pay a bit more but you'll appreciate it.
