Well I've hit the jackpot all you low gear heads.
I have found a local gear importer that can (and is willing to) bring in all Mitsu 5.29 part no's. All 5.29 gearsets are available for 4 cylinder and Gen 1 3.0 V6 models.
Prices are about 10-20% cheaper than what Mitsu will charge me.
These gears are genuine OEM part no's supplied from Mitsu's gear cutter.
I will be the sole agent for these 5.29 gears from Oz.
PM or email me for details.
Shipments from Japan are every 1-2 months so it's not a quick process. I may decide to stock each part no to speed up the process depending on interest.
Part no's are :-
4 cylinder (all)
front 7.25" MB185457, rear 8" MB241981
Gen 1 3.0 V6 (all)
front 8" MB241981, rear 9" MB598486
Gen 2 3.0 V6 (auto only)
front 7.25" MB831032, rear 9" MB598486

Frank.

Great to hear. I was dismayed at my inability (mine, not Aki's) to get a pair last summer when I was going all my work. I have since been hoping that maybe the starts would once again align. Put me down for a definite wish lister who is waiting for funds to become available. (What I really hope for is to come into a little pot o' money and get ARBs as well and to the axles all at once.)

Will these fit the leaf-sprung Montero Sports (Challenger?) as well? (As opposed to the 3.5L coil sprung.)

Cool, what type of reduction are you talking about going from 4.625 to 5.29. I might even be able to run 33's and go up hill with my 4banger.
