Wirebrush or sand the area clean, get out your non-electrical solder and the propane torch and reattach it. Thats how I've fixed mine in the past. Even been so lucky as to have the original factory solder glob melt and not have to use any new. Quick to fix, easy and as long as you keep the heat off the cores you will be fine.
