On an old radiator of mine, the top tab came loose from the radiator tank. I tried soldering but could not get enough heat into it with my big 100W iron (didn't try a torch). So I used JB Weld, but the vibration eventually got to it and it broke free. Then I drilled a few 1/8" holes through the tab and into the top of the tank and used some 1/8" s/s pop rivets to clamp it together after reapplying the JB Weld. I covered the top of the rivets with more epoxy and once it was filed smooth it lasted for many years until I replaced the radiator.
