I have run them for 150,000 between spark plug changes.

Don't get me wrong, I probably could run my NGKs alot longer, I am just psyco about preventitive maintanance. I change my coolant, trans fluid ,gear oil in my xfercase and diffs once a year. My oil every 3mo (1500mi)w/Mobil 1 synthetic. Pack my wheel bearings every year, bleed my brake fluid every year. You get my point. The changes may not be nessesary, but I don't like surprises. Everything gets checked after a long trip and wheeling. Why do I do it? Because I can, and fluids can tell a story.

you are not married are you With Mobil 1 you can change the oil every 6,000 (well depending on you driving) and still it will look good, with this I mean not gunky or dark like other regular oils.

88 red Montero with the Dakar Special Edition decals, 438,000 miles (As of 7/23/2012) some occational blue puffing but still strong and counting!!! I am going ppsshhh (turbo), Stay tuned =) ...

you are not married are you

Why yes
I have to have a good exuse to get out of the house
Really, the reason I chang my oil so often is contamination.
I run a Weber on my 2.6L and It tends to run rich when first started in the morning,w/electric choke on. When I do change my oil I get a hint of fuel odor. When I am running 3500RPM up a longp grade, 3rd gear, at 60MPH or so, I know my oil is there for me. Overkill, yes, But I like to be safe, this 4cly takes some abuse. When I change the oil, it is black, Usually, it's not the oil that causes the failure, it's what is in the oil that causes the failure. Better run a good filter, or all the synthetic in the world won't save it.
