i bought a mecha tech boot from you matt, its still holding up, but, its so small and tight, it looks as though it is about to give way. They need to be a little bigger with more rubber.

still questioning this...what do you mean it "looks" like it's about to give way?

is is cracked or what?

they are not designed like conventional rubber boots, so i'm wondering if the "look" is throwing you or what?

just lloking for feedback...not an argument.

uh, anyway......

Did you use the 'pop cone' to put the boots on? If not, have you seen this done? After seeing how far those things will stretch without breaking...... I wouldn't be concerned if they looked a little taut. JMHO, I've only been running them for about a year and a half (no problems so far) with 1.5" of lift (not exactly stressing them much), so I'm not the best candidate for destructive testing.

I only broke one, I did it in less than a 5 month period. I didn't notice it until I had blown a tierod. I don't beleive it was the tie rod that ripped the boot open. It was the stupidest tie rod break and getting back down was a sinch, so I doubt it, I just know I broke a mecatech boot.

I broke 4 of the other more stock like boots, so I suppose that is good for mecatech. Bottom line, I was tired of replacing boots altogether so I went solid axle and havent looked back.

Bottom line:
I think they are a great product and would definently run them on my IFS if I still had IFS.

Im not saying that they are crappy or anything (i havent torn it) im saying that more rubber will help on the lifetime of the boot. For sure ill be ordering another one though.

i appreciate that clarification.

i have sole 2 styles of CV replacemant boots over the last several years. the Mecatech is certianly the best i have seen....hands down.

i have literally sold hundreds of these and have yet to hear of ANY pre-mature.....or for that matter ANY failures at all.

i was curious as to the circumstances of your break

the way i read what you wrote was that "they suck don't bother" and that i STRONGLY disagree with.

AND i now you have an SAS....so i figured on the other hand you were probably just fed up with IFS hassels in general and maybe you were not being very objective on the product.

bottom line is i keep selling these because i feel they are good.....................but like any product, no matter how good......there is someone out there who can break it

i still think these are the best option out there.....and i am always looking for better

Wow, I don't remember having CV's on my locker Just trying to stay on topic.

I got a full set for my front end and will be installing them this weekend hopefully. They actually look really good to me, compared to the replacement boots I have seen from the local stores, and I think they are going to be a great addition, especially since 2 of mine are busted
