ok so i took the YJ for a spin today .. i havn't driven it for a week .. i get to a stop sign hit the breaks and when i start moving again the damn thing starts pulling to the left reall bad ... i have never had this happen so i pull over and look at the front end.. nothing ab normal what so ever so i proceed to the store and when i stop again i can smell breaks (like when you leave the e-brake on) and also felt the heat from the rotor... WTF how do i fix this .. ARGGG

it depends on what has causd it to stick. some people have good luck pulling the caliper apart cleaning it up and putting it back in service. if it were me i woul go down to your local auto parts store and buy a new (or rebuilt) caliper with a warnentee and put it on.

For as cheap as rebuilt calipers are, ($18 @ autozone) it's not worth rebuilding it your self. I'd change them on both sides as the other one will probably follow suit.

'bout 6 months ago I had the driver side Caliper sieze up tight on my YJ. Changed it and about a week later had to change the other one. Just the other day I had the passenger side sieze on the CJ. The good news is The CJ's only cost $12.50 each. I changed them both. It'd be a good time to inspect the rear brakes too. Flush out that funky old fluid.

no doubt, there must be a lot of sticky caliper stuff going on. my yj as been pulling on and off for abot a month, and it was just a couple of days ago that i realized why. wonder if it's salt/cold weather? glad to hear they're so cheap. i'm hoping it holds out till good weather, but that never happens does it!

Dallas if there is even a fleeting thought that the brakes need attention..DO IT! If you ever need brakes and the pedal goes to the floor... And all there is only parked cars to stop you or even WORSE! You will kick your own everlovin ass for not spending that money the first time you thought of it.. Brakes is the first thing that should be paid attention. Big Jim
