My dads Scout 800 with the pinion in the dirt 44 drove great too. However with any sort of lift on a scout, they start to wander and drive like crap.

I guess the the real story is... I hope you did not pay too much for the pair, because really what you bought is a good rear axle. As cat put it, try and find a wag housing stripped down bare and swap your stuff and do a solid outrigger, or have that housing/inner shaft shortened about 4".
BUT....doing all that leaves you with scout steering crap, weak hubs, light duty stub shafts, thin tubes.

The best case is to sell the scout front get a wag and do the 5 on 5.5 conversion, this way you get all the best stuff, best hubs, steering, spindles, tube thickness, flat top knuckles (For later high steer, if you look hard enough), castor and pinion angles all with the least grinding and cutting!

Side note.. I've done two waggy housings intalled INTO scouts, because scout axles don't work in scouts.
