I've got an '03 taco 4X4 TRD 3.4, The temp has been around Zero and I've been getting a brake warning light when it goes below 5* F. According to the owners manual only two things will turn on this light, the parking brake is on or the brake fluid is low. Neither of these conditons is present. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

I get this a lot when it's really cold out. I found that it comes on and off every now and then with no consistancy. I believe that it has to do with the sensor on the e-brake lever itself freezing. I drive a couple of feet and coast in neutral to see it my brake is actually on or not. If it's on I pull the brake lever once and it frees the brakes up and releases. Sometimes my e-brake does freeze though so make sure it's released before you drive all over the place.

I only get it when I step on the brake and after about 5or6 miles it goes out ( I don't use the parking brake as per the owners manual [Auto])

Apparently when the brake fluid level is in the normal operating range but low it will turn on this light in the cold weather so it was a simple fix duh
