I think I have about 12 bucks in the plate and 40 in the carb and then I had to have a pump valve and so the kit was another 17 or so.. Works great and never gives trouble. I think the guy said it came off of a 67 289 mustang auto. I won't be around for a while I am going to have to make a trip to Vidette Ga.! NCB just so you know the feedback carburetion set up on late CJ7 and early wranglers is a FORD design. Running a FORD ignition module and pickup coil, and running an almost stolen FORD carburetor.
for some reason jeeps have always lagged behind in engine technology. They did away with the feedback system like that in the 80's. apparently they were very picky and hard to keep running right..... but they did solve some emissions problems.

Dallas I just looked at the picture and remembered the choke! I spent about 20 bucks getting a new Holley electric choke for that carb. The old ford carbs were exhaust actuated and not electric. So you have to modify the choke to get it to work. BJ <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/pfft.gif" alt="" />

Getting the Wheeling Fever

OK guys....No more quessing...Sorry if I was a little vague. I wanted to put a pix for this question but could not figure it out. Need some help there. I do not have a web page. Anyway, I stopped by the dealer today and looks like I have an oil pressure switch and an idiot light switch. I believe the idiot light switch was the mystery part. According to the dealer these are mounted on a 2 port fitting which is mounted onto the engine block. The mechanic told me that some jeeps came with the oil pressure gage and idiot light on the dash. I can't figure if I have an idiot light since I have never seen one illuminate before I start the jeep. Could be burned out. Here is my project....I am going to install an electric fuel pump to prevent mechanical pump vapor lock and a backup pump. The instruction says I need to hook up the electical pump to an oil pressure safety switch. Talked to guys at work and they suggested adding an oil pressure switch, with a tee fitting next to the existing oil pressure switch. This way, if the engine stop the electric pump will stop. My thoughts are I will remove this idiot switch and replace it with another oil pressure switch for the pump. Any thoughts?
