Alright guys and gals, put on your thinking caps and help me out here please....

I currently work at a production company, manufacturing plastic irrigation parts. We have two 110 ton plastic injection mold machines and a somewhat equipt machine shop(to repair the molds on the injection mold machines) Now, we are looking to grow, and what better place to grow than in the 4x4 world.

So, can you offroaders help me get an idea of something to make out of plastic (possibly metal) that can be sold on a mass prodcution basis?. The biggest the part can be is 7.5 ounces, made from whatever kind of plastic, prefferably celcon or abs.

all suggestions are appreciated. I would like to make something special that will work for all four wheelers.

thanx guys and gals with brains.

How about valve stem caps w/ the 4X4WIRE logo or ISUZU logo?
Or possibly 4X4WIRE license plate frames?

Alot of wheelers seem to like snokle intakes.

I'd like to have a couple more gauges. If I had a flat piece of plastic to cover the storage bin under my stock radio, I could cut holes and mount my own gauges. just an idea.

Id like to some kind of center console for the first gens, or maybe something that makes it taller, so it can be used as an arm rest...

I also second the intake/snorkel...

The most universal idea so far seems to be the intake/snorkle. I found myself brainstorming today about a cusom snorkle set-up. Once the design is worked out, it seems like they would be a peice of cake to produce, from the sound of your setup.

That's got my vote

Kevin,

What are the maximum dimensions of the part your could mold? It seems like a snorkel would weigh more than 7.5 ounces, but it would get my vote also. Are you thinking of molding things that are already available such as poly bushings and spacers? Or, do you want to mold things that are not currently available? We'll all be pondering this for you.

How about gauge pod setups for first Gen A-Pillars? Maybe singles and tripples?

ok I am not sure the logistics of getting the design to work. But ok we have bigger tires. We are going 65 on the dash and some of us 79 on the road. What controls this a little "PLASTIC" gear. Why not make the little gears to get the gauge to read correctly. There was an option for first gen's I don't see why they couldn't be made you can start by making copies of the one's that already exsist I think by aftermarket laws after 10 years they are fair game. And if they are a different material them you are safe. But it's an idea.

I'll also add a vote for a snorkel. If size is a problem it could be molded in several pieces. I believe the existing ones out there have to be assembled.

Gauge pods would be cool too.

How about 1st gen speaker pods for larger speakers. If not 6x9's then at least 6-1/2 rounds.
