Getting the Wheeling Fever
Fokion, the average US locksmith would probably not want to be called a professional thief, but I see what you were trying to say. Someone who can pick locks professionally.

Kiabama, your method worked for getting the door open. I haven't figured out what I need to do to keep it from happening again. If I could see the spring that broke, I wonder if I could find something similar in the old junk box. Thanks, I'm part of the way there anyway.

What do I ask the KIA place for, the lock assembly? do you know the name of the part I'm going to ask for?

The KIA isn't as powerful as the dually, but it sure is easier to park.

As well as I can see it the spring itself isn't broken, it's a plastic clip that the spring hooks to. I can't be sure though. I see the broken clip, and I don't see a spring at all.

Kiabama, got the door open and the panel off. You were right about the problem. How much did the assembly cost, and how hard was it to replace it? Thanks for the help.

Just ask them for the whole door lock assembly. It has bees several years since I replaced mine and I do not even remember how much it cost. Want to say $75. or $80. I would call a junkyard. I know there is one up in that area on 431. 1-800-621-3788. Not sure where. I know of 2 more here in Bham that have some sportages after searching long and hard. Let me know if you need anymore help.
