Greetings Everyone, I'm new here but have already used a lot of your suggestions. The turn signal and flashers on my 97 T-100 abruptly quit working. I thought I would change the flasher but I can't find where it's located. Had half the dash apart, went to dealer and they had quick look, one said his (on a 98) was behind the fuse block - looked there, I don't think there's enough room. Someone mentioned it's under the hood - none of the part numbers of the relays I saw seemed to match. WHERE IS IT???????

The Haynes manual says it is behind the panel under the instrument cluster. I think there are about 4 bolts to take out and you'll have access. It is the panel on the dash directly below the steering wheel and the flasher is supposed to be on the left hand side.

I have that manual and had that left lower dash panel off. Also took of the trim around the gage cluster. Unless it's behind the AC duct which I felt around top and bottom, it just aint there.

Yeah, I wish I had a better manual than the Haynes. Maybe someone here has the Toyota Factory manual and can tell you exactly where it should be.

I'm looking at my downloaded Factory service manual and it shows the flasher as in the cab, Just to the right of the hood release. I also have a 97 and downloaded all '97 stuff so this should be accurate.
Hope it helps...

Did you check the blinker fluid? Could be running low....

If I'm reading my 95 FSM correctly, it's on the auto shifter shaft (black relay behind the white connector): Closer: ![[Linked Image]](http://myweb.cableone.net/jlflanagan/Autos/T-Flasher-s.jpg)

Thanks for the pics, that's what I needed to see. Mine has the factory alarm which apperently also wires into the turn signal flasher but I did find this same relay tie-wrapped about 3" above the fuse block. It has 5 prongs, the replacement AutoZone sold me only had 3 so I was looking elsewhere. It's not the same part number Toyota wanted to sell me for $56 either. I pulled the relay off and tried to start the beast, it won't start without that relay installed. (alarm or ??). I'll go back to dealer tomorrow and see what parts department has to say other than 'Will that be cash or do you need to take out a loan?'. Thanks for everybody's help, you would be suprised how many people in Houston misinterpret hand signals.

...you would be suprised how many people in Houston misinterpret hand signals. Sad thing is, I probably wouldn't be all that surprised...
