Are the TBI intake manifolds for the 2.8's all interchangable?

I have a lead on one that I would like to have bored out to match a 4.3 throttle body to reduce the out of service time when I swap, but it has a different part number. It's off a '90 S-10, but it looks identical to the one on my '91 Trooper (well, as much as I can tell without taking mine off and setting them side by side).

Is this just a GM/Isuzu part number difference, or are there other quirks to look out for?

TIA

Jay

This may be an urban myth, but try dropping the first and last number of the Isuzu part number, and you may find the Chevy number.

yeah man I'm pretty sure they are the same. I heard if you take the gm part number, and take the first and last number off, and thats the isuzu part number.Or the other way around? But i'm like 98% sure there the same manifolds

Not an urban myth IMO, I have ordered alternator braces for my 2.8L V6 when the braces broke and the Isuzu parts guy gave me the Isuzu parts number and told me to drop the first and last digits. I did so and ordered the parts faster and cheaper thru the local Chevy dealer. AFAIK, this would only apply to engine parts on the GM 2.8L. This also worked on a replacement Power Steering resevoir and oil filler cap...

Well, the part # theory didn't help. The part # on the one for sale is 14089802, mine is 10087672.

If it was a little cheaper I might take a flyer on it, but it's off eBay (typical small fuzzy pics), so maybe I'll keep cruising the junkyards to find one I that I can compare in person to mine.

Thanks,

Jay

If I can't get a 3.4 right away , I think I might swap the 2.8 in , just to get rid of the worst of it , make it alittle easier later on.If I have the 2.8 in , could I pick up a 4.3 TB and put it on the 2.8 untill I find a good 3.4?Or will it only work on a 3.1 or 3.4?
Also , do I need the 4.3 intake manifold too and other parts for the 4.3?

I read your write up , but all I saw mentioned in it were the 3.1 and 3.4 , thats why I was asking if the 4.3 TB works on the 2.8 as well I can't afford 2700 right now for a new 3.4 , so will use the 2.8 till I can find a good used one or have the cash for a new engine.
