Brake bleeding #561522 02/01/05 10:40 AM

Hi,
I tried to do a search for "bleeding" but i only came up with threads that said i needed to bleed. Instead of how to actually bleed.

On Gadget's website he recommends using a "power flusher/bleeder".
He states to simply hook this up and pump to 15psi then go around and simply open the bleeding valve until you see nice clean fluid.

Question, where's the bleeder valve?
also, if i use the "power bleeder" that gives me all clean fluid, does that mean after i flush my brakes, i dont have to bleed them?

I'm so confused.

thanks

Well, when you flush your brake fluid, your bleeding them too.

I've never used a power bleeder, but I'm sure they are better than manual ones. I was cheap and bought the "one man brake bleeding kit" from AutoZone for $5.

Bleeder valves are on the backside of the calipers. 10mm wrench will open them up.

There is a certain order you want to bleed the brakes. Driver's rear wheel, passenger rear wheel, passenger front, driver's front, and then the LSPV.

Attach the bleeder bottle with hose to the caliper, open the bleeder valve, pump brakes a few times, go back and close the valve, move on to next wheel, repeat. Finish up with the LSPV.

Theres also a tech article right here on the site

If you have 3rd Gen than order should be: Pass Rear, Driver Rear, Pass Front and Driver Front. There no LSPV ether.

There is a LSPV on trucks without ABS.
