Getting the Wheeling Fever
Does anybody know of a good place to get a right rear mounted 6 disc CD changer for my '95 SR? The connectors are behind the trim panel any ready to hook up. I am having trouble finding a unit complete with carpet cover and Montero mounting bracket. There are several on eBay for other Mits. that "may" fit but I want the original mounting bracket and cover and unit for the Montero SR.

-Thanks.

I would try the stealer. Those types of parts (bracket/carpet) may not be too badly priced. I got an extra set of jump seat brackets for $15 each, which I thought was a rather civilized price.

According to the dealers, these parts (changer, changer parts) are all out & discontinued :-(

That sucks. How about Car-Part.com for the whole setup?

Car-part.com does show lots of units, but these yards won't furnish photos or offer (most times) any info about the units like part numbers, exact fit, condition, etc. Kinda leery about buying sensitive electronic parts with no prior info. I was kinda hoping that someone on the board here may have a complete setup (changer, carpet, bracket)that they didn't need :-)

I do know that the factory unit is a 10 disc, and the third disc seems to always "die". I just leave it empty and the other 9 cd's read fine...either my own burns or store bought. I DO know that carmax in our area has a guy that works on the changers...mebbe if you have one in your area (Carmax) I would ask the service writer or manager if you can get the phone number to him or her.

The '95 SR's actually only had a 6 disc changer the 10 disc was introduced in later Montys (or perhaps the LS).. But any help that you could pass my way would be greatly appreciated.. :-)

I have the 6 disc changer in my basement,It worked great when i pulled it you are welcome to have it if you pay the shipping. I am using the carpet cover and mount. If you want it let me know,it also has two disc magazines with it.
