okay, someone mentioned a oil filter relocation kit. I saw one of them on Perfomance Products for like 60 bucks. Do these things actually work? Or would they leak? Anyone have those on or know about them? Im due for an oil change now, and last time, it got all over the skid plate.

I use a 4" galvanized steel funnel with a metal flex hose about 12" long attached (bought it at AutoZone). I flattened the funnel into an oval shape, approximately 2" wide by about 5", then made two cuts about an inch long and about 1/4 inch apart down the center of one of the flat sides of the oval. I bent the metal between the cuts out and down forming a hook. I take off the skid plate, and I hang the modified funnel on the ground strap that's bolted to the block just below the Oil filter. 99.44% of the oil goes down the funnel, and just a couple of drops seep down the side of the block -- easily wiped off when I clean the base for the new filter.

Just got one for the wifey's rig... Oil changes are easy as hell on the T 'cause there's a fair amount of clearance (especially with the bl & lack of fender skirts); They SUCK on that damn 4runner. Always get claw-handed after doing it.
It's going on at the next change (2k miles to go). I'll write up something (or find something already written) as it's probably a shared concept for all the 3.4l installs.
