Getting back to the point of the thread, if Toyota were to include twin lockers lower T-case gearing etc, I think it might give the Rubicon a run for it's money and I still stand by my assertion that the Toyota is likely to be more reliable overall.
IF Toyota does produce such a vehicle I am sure that it will give the Rubicon a run for its money. As Bill and Brian Gallus have both said already though, you will be disappointed. (Feel free to gloat if Toyota proves me wrong...) Ya, I probably will be. My expectations are low already. Toyota doesn't offer anything all that capable and certainly not affordable. $60,000 Land Cruiser!? So, just about anything is a step up. I'm not expecting something like new version of the Land Cruiser 78 series or anything. I fully expect IFS front and coil SA rear, just like the concept. I would be interested if they include 33" tires, hopefully not with 20" wheels. They never did mention anything about lockers or lower geared T-case in the concept, so that's pure speculation based on nothing. I would be happy with something based on the 4Runner with factory 33" tires and lockers. But like everyone says, good luck. We'll see in just a few hours. BTW, the Jeep Gladiator is an interesting concept. So is the Rescue. I'd really love to see Toyota build something like that, but that ain't gonna happen. Kudos to Jeep for at least experimenting with the idea. http://www.jeep.com/autoshow/gladiator/gallery.html

Gladiator-That tire on the side looks like crap. That Rescue looks sweet however. Do you think they will ever produce it? Who cares if it breaks down, it looks awesome.

I think the Gladiator is the most intriguing looking concept out there and being an old jeep fan in my pre-toy days, I would buy one if the production model looked similar. The only trouble is Id havta trade it in a couple years before the warranty ran out and things started going south. I spent way too much time wrenching on my CJ7.

Anyone have a link to live pics, or a site that will put pics up pretty soon after introduction?

I saw the Gladiator at the Detroit auto show last month and it is truly amazing! The thing is all beef, no fluff (side-mounted spare notwithstanding). Fully boxed frame, diesel, solid axles, decent bed that is line-x'd or something, good cab space. But it is large - on par with a full-size standard cab truck.
Still, I'd buy one.

4.0 V6, 17" wheels, rear locker option. Interesting front and rear windshields that extend into the flat roof panel.
Now we wait another year.

Is anyone watching the reveal on toyota.com right now? They are talking about it and saying it will be a 2007 model, and not for "everyone".

Looks like a rebodied 4Runner. All the same specs (4.0L V6, electric gew-gaws). It does have brushed headlight and interior trim.
Whatever.
