I think it's the Fitzer Valve

<img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" /> Yeah, that's it. All you need is some 301 silk and some 30 weight.

Come on guys, it's all ball-bearings now!

The more I compare the two videos...Id swear you got them backwards as far as Episode 1 and the sequel....Squeel like a PIG!

Seriously, the clunkering as the engine shut down in episode one of Joshman Cometh would indicate serious internal damage. The hard start in the beginning of the sequel...or is that Squeel (?) also would point in that direction which is upward by rightish. But a severly injured engine will idle if properly coaxed. Hell I spit the rings out of the Gen-1 22R-EB and drove it 10 days until the second Compression ring went and I had to drive 30+ miles back to Tacoma on 3 cylinders. No damage done to the cylinder walls...and the truck did great! Maintained highway speed, idled rough...but idled. Of course I had to use twine to tie the dipstick tube and valve cover breather down to keep them from ejecting...but it got me there!

You guys think way too big.

I prolly should have told you guys that there's a Baja Bug playing in the background. Thats what that noise is when I'm coasting down the hill/starting the engine.

Engine started, idled and I got out of the truck with it still running.

This fact rules out alot of things.

Ok, fine...I'll lay my bet...final answer. Did your umpty-squat take a sheeeeet on you? Shore was noisy and cloudy and such. Figuring with them kinda revs in the squirrel box it would have to be the Umpty-Squat no doubt about it.

Geezus Josh, there is alot of things that could have happened. Broken HG, blown hose, cracked block to name a few. Hell somebody coulda pissed in your tailpipe and the visual results woulda been the same....maybe they pee'd in your carb? Smell would be different, but as I said...visual would be the same. I'll kick back now and wait till next week for the answer.

LOL

You guys crack me up...

Well you prolly already guessed that the truck is fine. I thought that would have been obvious after the last video when I get out of the truck and its still running.

The truck was at such an angle that all the oil ran to the back of the engine. At that time the PVC valve became submersed in oil, sucking oil from the valve cover into the intake. This is where all the smoke came from. This is also why it cleared up once the engine started up.

I drove the truck for the rest of the day just fine. I started it up the next day, no smoke.

Now, I have no way of proving this is what happened. It's only my best guess. The oil is normal colored and the coolant is in where it is supposed to be. The truck has just as much power as normal. Idles the same, runs the same. I'll be driving it down the Phoenix next Wednesday. I'm thinking of picking up another HG and swaping it out for safety sake.

I'll prolly pull the plugs in a few days and see what they look like. Since it's not my daily driver anymore, so I'm not too rushed.

Later all

Josh
