Bob,

the bracket I am refering to is the black painted part in the second picture from bottom on the brakes web page. You can see me holding it in my hand.

It is bolted to the spindle and holds the pads and the calipers. There is a similar bracket on the 87 brakes that holds the pads and caliper.
