Ain't it fun having a piece of gear protecting your rig from you instead of a thief Just another reason to trail flog the jeep for misbehaving on pavement. For some reason car alarms and me don't get along. When my POS alarm died I was about 2 hours drive from home. It resulted in 2 disturbing the peace tickets for a total of $150, a dead battery, and a car that wouldn't start due to a melted alarm circuit board. Thank god there was a good samaritan that gave me a jump. As soon as we gave the sucker juice again it went off. He was patient and helped me figure how to disconnected it, man he really helped me out.
I don't know about you, but since that day I'm kinda turned off any cheap alarm I could afford. Unfortunately thanks to folks like me most folks have become def to alarms and don't pay them much mind anymore. The new expensive ones look pretty slick with pagers that notify you and ect, but are tougher to install.
http://www.tintdude.com/forum/lofiversion/index.php/t16300.htmlUnfortnately I'm now a skeptic of them and their usefullness. I was the only person that ever seem to set it off. Plus most professional thieves seem to go for the battery first to stop the siren ayway.
http://www.epinions.com/content_1528209540Since my Rotty died (RIP) I need a new way of protecting it from thieves. I'm thinking a removable steering wheel and radio faceplate that I can take with and a well hidden kill switch is a better defense against the average thief. If anyone has any good ideas or can recommend a solid afforable alarm I may give it a try again. Thanks
Q. If a alarm fails in the woods and there is no one to hear it does it still make a sound?
