When you are getting 26-28 mpg in an 86-87 Trooper turbo diesel that is doing about the best you can. The higher the miles on the engine and still getting in that range is reassuring. Steve since you only have 5,000 miles on your turbo diesel, getting 28 mpg is what a brand new Trooper got anways (according to fueleconomy.gov). It's not so much your mpg # that impresses me, but it's going 550 miles to a tank of fuel that does. That sure is great because when you think of what today's SUVs get in fuel mileage the Trooper turbo diesel is blowing most off the map <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />.
